As part of ICIMOD’s Himalica programme, a comprehensive ecosystem services assessment was conducted from 17 April to 9 May 2014 in three villages around Inlay Lake. Inlay Lake is situated in Shan State and is the second largest lake in Myanmar.

The village of Bhoterungti in Kavre Palanchowk District, Nepal was one of many settlements in the region affected by the April 2015 earthquake. Most houses were constructed with bricks and mud mortar and were deemed unsafe.
