Action Area E

Regional data, networks and institutions

With billions of people facing rising water, energy and food insecurity across the region, and potentially systemic disruption, there is an urgent need for closer coordination, more ambitious and collaborative action, strategies and investments. ICIMOD’s regional advocacy team sets out to provide regional governments with access to and the capacity to act on more and better insight, information services, syntheses, and evidence about trends and events, bolster political support for regional cooperation through high-level institutional mechanisms, promote dialogue on transboundary issues to strengthen the science-policy interface and forge regional learning networks to encourage faster sharing of , technologies, tools and approaches. The unit encourages regional governments to pool knowledge and drive progress in priority areas and to raise a shared advocacy voice on common issues.
