Hydropower

The Transboundary Working Group (TbWG) on Hydropower is a cross-cutting working group of the Koshi Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Hub (KDKH). The group will actively focus on assessing multi-hazard vulnerability and risk on hydropower in the Koshi Basin, identifying potential ways of enhancing resiliency of hydropower to changing climate, enhancing collaboration in terms of research, publishing, advocacy, and dissemination for promoting the concept of resilient hydropower. Moreover, with members from China, India, and Nepal, the TbWG works closely with other technical TbWGs such as landslide/sedimentation, drought, GLOFs, floods, Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management (CBDRM), and policy and advocacy, and extend support to the groups in co-creation of knowledge as and when relevant.
