Water and Air
Currently, I am working with the team focused on community-based flood early warning systems (CBFEWS) under the Water and Air Theme and with the SWaRMA, Koshi Basin and Indus Basin initiatives where my role is to provide technical inputs, support and clarifications regarding CBFEWS to partners and potential partners to allow effective implementation of CBFEWS and support the sustainability of the systems.
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
Floods can be devastating and my work with CBFEWS helps enhance community response capabilities and helps build resilience against oncoming floods.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
The people and the working environment! I feel blessed to work with a fabulous team and I love the opportunities to work with other teams across ICIMOD to manage, communicate and promote our work.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about traveling and exploring new places and have an adventurous spirit.
I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Engineering. Previously at ICIMOD, I had worked as an intern to support and monitor of solar powered irrigation pumping systems.
I had previously worked with an organization called Sustainable Eco Engineering, through which I was involved in the installation of CBFEWS in river tributaries in Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Pakistan, and facilitated the hands-on-training on CBFEWS conducted by ICIMOD.
