20 December 2017 to 21 December 2017
Himalica pilot in Udaypur is supporting in capacity building activities, technical support, and constant field level mentoring which has empowered 474 rural households. The pilot has also helped build connections between farmers groups, cooperatives and financial institutions to encourage commercialisation of the agricultural sector especially through vegetable farming. Himalica also conducted three action research projects to generate new knowledge and get deeper understanding of resilience building, migration and remittances, ecosystem management, and agriculture extension services.
The knowledge generated and lessons learnt in Himalica need to be shared with stakeholders, including the government, development organisations, private sectors and donors, for sustained impacts and potential scaling up. This national workshop intends to: (a) Share results from Himalica Udayapur pilot initiatives and action research works with relevant local and national stakeholders from Nepal (b) Seek partnership for mainstreaming and potential scaling up of innovative solutions in Nepal
