Country Support Officer – Bhutan Country Offices
Dago Retty has been serving as ICIMOD’s Country Support Officer for Bhutan since January 1st, 2023. Prior to this role, Dago worked as a Programme Assistant from 2020 to 2022.
Based in Thimphu, Bhutan, Dago holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Canberra.
Dago has a passion for fostering international relations and deep experience in facilitating engagement and strengthening ties between ICIMOD and Bhutanese partners in government, academia, and civil society.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
Through my work, I contribute to efforts to protect the mountain environment and improve the livelihoods of communities in the HKH.
What is your favourite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
I like the work environment and learn something new every day. The organization offers a lot of opportunities for growth and learning.
What are you passionate about?
Lately I have become very fond of trekking. Being in nature is a rejuvenating experience.
My qualifications
I have a bachelor’s in commerce from Royal Thimphu College, Royal University of Bhutan. After graduation, I worked as a Manager and Marketing Executive at Yalama Arts and Consultancy, an architecture firm, where I learned a lot about Bhutanese architecture. In 2015, I worked as a Deputy Finance Manager State at Trading Corporation of Bhutan Ltd., and later as a Marketing/Operation Manager at Bhutan Majestic Travel.
