On 10-11 July, The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) organized a two-day Regional Consultation Workshop on Sustainable Human Settlements in Mountain Regions in Kathmandu, Nepal, which built on the work of existing interventions on Sustainable Human Mountain Settlement with the aim of “assessing key challenges and opportunities for sustainability in mountain human settlements”.

6 月 20 日， 由八个成员国组成的国际山地综合发展中心 (ICIMOD)发布了一份重量级的新评估报告，揭示出由于全球变暖导致兴都库什-喜马拉雅 (HKH) 地区的冰川、雪和永久冻土的变化是 “前所未有的，且多为不可逆的” 。
2023 年 6 月 28 日，由兰州大学主办的关于加强 Bam-e-Dunya 景观（含阿富汗、中国、巴基斯坦和塔吉克斯坦）山区农业和粮食安全合作伙伴合作的研讨会（又名《泛中巴经济走廊高寒山区粮食安全与山地农业可持续发展战略研究》项目研讨会）在中国兰州举行。
8月16日，四川大学中国南亚研究中心代表团一行前往国际山地综合发展中心进行访问，代表团团长、南亚中心首席专家邱永辉教授、国际关系学院副院长、南亚研究所副所长宋志辉教授等6名代表团成员，与山地中心副总干事伊莎贝拉﹒科泽尔女士（Izabella Koziell）、喜马拉雅大学联盟（HUC）秘书处负责人张惠枝博士（Chi H Truong）、生物多样性专家易绍良博士、粮食安全专家阿比德﹒侯赛因博士（Abid Hussain）等相关领域专家举行座谈。
