Air Pollution Solutions & Clean Brick Initiative
Sarlahi and Siraha, Nepal
24 February 2022 to 28 February 2022
Bidya Banmali Pradhan
As a part of our ongoing Clean Brick Initiative funded by FCDO, we are collaborating with the Federation of Nepal Brick Industries (FNBI) and MinErgy Nepal to organize a field training programme on zig-zag technology for brick kiln owners in Province 2, Nepal. The training aims to impart zig-zag technology for the conversion of traditional brick kilns and help brick kiln owners with the operation and management of already converted zig-zag brick kilns.
Along with brick experts from Nepal and members of MinErgy, we will also provide a social development training to brick kiln owners and kiln workers. The training aims to improve the living and working conditions of workers and provide participants with a platform to discuss the issues and challenges they face during the conversion process and operation of the technology.
The training will include classroom and on-site sessions at brick kilns in Sarlahi and Siraha. Participants from Bara, Parsa, Mahottari, Dhanusha, and Rautahat are expected to participate.
This training is a part of the effort to upscale the zigzag technology and promote cleaner and socially responsible brick production practices in Nepal.
