About the annual dialogue

The Koshi Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Hub (KDKH) annual dialogue is a platform for like-minded institutions, stakeholders, researchers, and policy makers to create and capitalise on opportunities to enhance resilience in the Koshi Basin. The annual dialogue is a flagship event for the KDKH, a member-driven platform that amalgamates the exchange of knowledge, ideas, innovations, and practices from the Koshi Basin countries – China, Nepal, and India – and beyond. The platform is also used to discuss research findings, good practices, and innovations that could bolster policies and plans for reducing multi-hazard disaster risks at a transboundary level.

Created in 2018, the hub works to strengthen transboundary collaborations that can enhance policies and plans for reducing disaster risks in the Koshi Basin. In 2021, the virtually held annual dialogue laid the foundation for initiating Koshi chapters in the basin countries and disseminating knowledge through the Transboundary Working Groups (TbWGs). In 2022, the dialogue will be centred on multi-hazard disaster risks.
