The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) is an ICIMOD initiative under the regional programme on Mountain Knowledge and Action Networks (MKAN). SANDEE is a research capacity-building network that supports South Asian researchers and institutions interested in the connections between economic development, the environment, and the use of natural resources.

SANDEE will hold its 38th biannual research and training workshop in Kunming, China. Selected researchers, whose proposals have undergone rigorous peer review, will present to peers and SANDEE faculty advisors and defend their proposals for the SANDEE research grants competition. The workshop will also be attended by researchers who have received SANDEE–ICIMOD grants. Faculty advisors and researchers will work on these research projects, review the progress, and develop action plans for the completing the research on time.
