I manage the Atmosphere Programme. This involves developing plans and interventions supporting ICIMOD’s goals, overseeing finance and operations for the programme, and supervising a team with diverse responsbilities. I also coordinate the Air Pollution Solutions Initiative and work with the private sector and governments to find ways to reduce air pollution.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

I protect the pulse of the planet by generating cutting-edge evidence on the atmospheric process, drivers and impacts in the HKH, and designing solutions to mitigate air pollution.

What is your favourite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

I value the opportunity to contribute to global and regional discourses and interact with policy makers across the HKH region. I also enjoy working with colleagues from diverse cultures and in multidisciplinary teams.

What are you passionate about?

A:

I like travelling to new destinations and learning about food and culture. I also enjoy cooking different cuisines and playing basketball.

My qualifications

A:

I have over 20 years of experience in strategic planning and implementing programmes in the field of environment management, air pollution, energy and mitigation. I provide guidance on policy development and work closely with governments and development partners. I have an MS in environmental engineering, and environment management and technology from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and a Master of Technology in biotechnology and genetic engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), Mumbai, India.
