Dr S M Wahid, a Bangladeshi national, joined ICIMOD on 1 April 2011 as Senior Hydrologist. His work will focus on integrated water resources management, climate change and water vulnerability assessment, flood forecasting and warning, risk and hazard analysis, and transboundary water resources management. Dr Wahid has more than fifteen years experience in research and development work related to water management and has played a key role in the identification, design, implementation, and monitoring of various multi-disciplinary projects. He has previously worked at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Institute of Water Modelling (IWM), Bangladesh; and as a consultant for UNEP, UNDP, ADB, FAO, and the World Bank. Dr Wahid holds a PhD in Integrated Water Resources Management from AIT, Thailand. He has a proven record of scholarly publication in international peer reviewed journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, technical manuals, and reports, and is a regular peer reviewer for various International Journals.
