Wetlands for water and life - Widespread declines in birds that spend most of their lives at sea are alarming conservationists. Seven species of seaduck that spend the northern winter in the Baltic – a key non-breeding area – have dropped in number by up to 65% in 15 years, without any clear explanation.
The aim of the ICESD conference series is to provide a forum for laying the foundations of a new principled approach to Environmental Science and Development. To this end, the meeting aims to attract participants with different backgrounds, to foster cross-pollination between different research fields, and to expose and discuss innovative theories, frameworks, methodologies, tools, and applications. ICEST 2012 will be published as conference proceedings by IACSIT, and all papers will be included in the Engineering and Technology Digital Library, and indexed by the INSPEC,Thomson ISI,EBSCO and CNKI. The deadline for abstracts/proposals is 10 December 2011.
