Susanne Wymann von Dach

Geographer and Senior Research Scientist, University of Bern, Switzerland

Susanne Wymann von Dach (MSc) is a geographer and senior research scientist at the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She has extensive experience in knowledge sharing activities for sustainable mountain development. She has been serving as Associate Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Mountain Research and Development since 2000 and has been instrumental in advancing publication of work that presents transformation knowledge. In January 2017, she was entrusted with coordination of CDE’s mandate within the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s programme on Sustainable Mountain Development for Global Change and was asked to join the editorial team of the Sustainable Mountain Development Series, the latest issue of which aimed at making the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction work for mountain communities. She has work experience in the Swiss Alps, Nepal, Laos, and East Africa. Besides her keen interest in the cause of mountain people, she engages in research on innovation and transition processes for sustainable development.
