Gender inequalities obstruct the achievement of sustainable development goals. Therefore, ICIMOD is committed to gender equality and inclusive development in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH). This is reflected in ICMOD’s vision, mission, Medium Term Action Plans (MTAP) III and IV, Strategic Results Framework, and the Gender Equity Policy. There have been continuous efforts and initiatives to mainstream gender at the institutional as well as the programmatic levels through various activities, moving towards gender equality and gender transformative change in the HKH. A critical component of this is ensuring equitable and meaningful participation of women and men.
