Suyog Maskey works as Senior Procurement Associate. He ensures accountability, integrity, and transparency in procurement procedures, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.

He has nearly a decade of experience in supply chain management for various donor projects and coordinating humanitarian efforts in challenging environments. Previously, he served as logistics officer at CARE Nepal, overseeing supply chain management for their earthquake response project from the Gorkha field office.

Suyog strongly believes in considering social and environmental factors alongside economic factors when making procurement decisions, reflecting his commitment to holistic sustainability and ICIMOD’s objectives for the Hindu Kush Himalaya region.

He holds a Master in Business Administration from King’s College, Kathmandu, affiliated to Westcliff University, California, USA.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

Professionally, through my unit and through facilitating thriving partnerships between ICIMOD and our partners, we together ultimately protect the pulse of the planet.

It is through small initiatives that I believe we can bring in big changes. As an aware individual, I do whatever I can in order to protect the pulse of the planet through trying to implement environment-friendly behaviour in my daily activities and also promoting the same in my family, society, and community.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

ICIMOD has this different environment and surrounding which make it distinct from other organisations. Working in this environment is refreshing and inspires me to do more. There is so much to learn at ICIMOD and working with experts and professionals gives a young professional like me plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. I also believe working here at ICIMOD not only serves my personal growth but also makes me feel that I am contributing to the greater good of the planet.

What are you passionate about?

A:

I’m passionate about doing impactful work that actually helps the environment and people, and personally I also enjoy watching movies, tv shows, travelling and reading a good book.

My qualifications

A:

I completed my Masters in Business Administration. I started my professional career in the aviation sector for a brief span and then moved to working for aid agencies. I have had almost 6 years’ work experience, during which I worked in several districts of Nepal.  I’ve also had opportunities to receive training in supply chain management, commodity inventory, logistics management, disaster response, and camp site management.
