Regional action and global advocacy (SG3)

My role with the Mountain Knowledge and Action Networks Regional Programme and the Hindu Kush Himalayan Monitoring and Assessment Programme (HIMAP) Initiative as Programme Associate is to coordinate, manage and support the administrative, financial and logistical functions of the programme and the team. Among my many responsibilities, I also support the team to organizing events, workshops, meetings and seminars at the national and international levels and coordinate with stakeholders, country offices and partner organisations for the implementation and smooth functioning of our efforts.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

Through my work, I support our institutional and programme-level efforts to protect the pulse of the planet since we are all aimed together to bring policies, awareness, and positive effects across the HKH region.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

The working environment, working with people from many different cultures and the supportive infrastructure of the office.

I am passionate about learning new things and listening to music.

My qualifications

A:

I have over 10 years of experience working in administration and programmatic units, including previous work experience with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal (UN-OHCHR), Plan International Nepal, and the Social Development and Promotion Center (SDPC). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in rural development and a Master’s degree in sociology and anthropology from Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, Kathmandu. Apart from this, I hold a diploma in community development from the New Era Development Institute (NEDI), Panchgani, Maharashtra, India and I have taken several trainings on Human Rights monitoring skills, child care development, and research methods.
