Prakriti is a climate policy professional and advocate with strong experience in international climate negotiations, particularly in advancing the agenda on Loss and Damage under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She has actively contributed to the global climate process as the youth coordinator for the Least Developed Countries (LDC) group on climate change, where she has worked to elevate youth voices from vulnerable countries in multilateral climate spaces.

Her work lies at the intersection of climate justice, gender equity, and resilient development, with a growing focus on the unique vulnerabilities and adaptation needs of mountain communities. Prakriti has contributed to the formulation of Nepal’s third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) and hasworked on a United Nations Women-funded project focused on strengthening women’s climate and disaster resilience as well as supporting the integration of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) into local climate and disaster risk reduction (DRR) planning and policy.

Her commitment lies in bridging grassroots realities with regional and global processes to shape equitable and evidence-informed climate solutions for vulnerable regions like the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH).

Prakriti holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science with a specialisation in Climate Change from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
