My role at ICIMOD

As a graphic designer, I implement our branding across various types of knowledge products and for the ICIMOD website through design and layout of general and technical publications. I also design infographics and coordinate with external vendors for printing and for production of branded products.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

Being a designer, I contribute to protecting the pulse of the planet by developing simple and innovative knowledge product designs which effectively communicate to all types of audiences and thus help in creating awareness.

Q:

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

I am in love with Kathmandu, which is the best place to live close to nature and people who are welcoming. ICIMOD has a great working place with colleagues who are like a family and supporting.

What are you passionate about?

A:

I am passionate about creating new things – it can be anything which may or may not be related to my profession, like creating architectural designs, graphic-web designs, cooking (sometimes), artwork, sketching, or event management.

My qualifications

A:

I have a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and a Diploma in multimedia and animation, which includes graphic and web design, 3D and 2D animation, character and architectural modelling, lighting, texturing and rendering, and audio-video editing.

In my twelve-year working career, I have worked with SEMAT Advertising Agency, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a web-graphic and 3D architectural designer for more than two years, and with the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs) in Hyderabad, India, for more than three years as web-graphic administrator. I also have experience in 3D animation and set-modelling and lighting and I originally joined ICIMOD as a web-graphic designer to work on the Himalayan, Adaptation, Water, and Resilience (HI-AWARE) programme.
