Manisha Maharjan is a Water Resources Management Specialist at ICIMOD. Before joining ICIMOD, she worked as a consultant project coordinator for Scaling City Institutions for Asia and India (SCI-AI) project at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand which mainly focused on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) systems in India and Asia. She also served as a visiting researcher in Center of Research for Environment, Energy and Water (CREEW), Nepal. She has over a decade of experience in water resources management, hydrology and climate change across South Asia and Southeast Asia, contributing to research and sustainable management. She also served as a post graduate researcher for the Post-Doctoral Research Programme on Adaptation to Climate Change (PRoACC2), a project under United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – International Institute for Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (UNESCO-IHE), Netherlands at AIT.

She holds a PhD in environmental engineering from Kyoto University, Japan. She got her master’s degree in water engineering and management from AIT, Thailand and dual master’s degree in Hydroprotech from University of Nice- Sophia-Antipolis, France.
