Khushboo Sharma

Dr. Khushboo Sharma joined ICIMOD as an Air Pollution Analyst in 2023.

Khushboo holds a Ph.D. in Geology with a specialization in aerosol characterization from Sikkim University, India and a master’s degree in environmental science from Banaras Hindu University.

She worked as a Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow at Sikkim University from 2020 to 2023, contributing to the Department of Science and Technology’s Center of Excellence in Water Resources, Cryosphere, and Climate Change Studies.

Her research focus included Atmospheric Aerosol, Black Carbon, and Climate Change.

Beyond academia, she has worked as project coordinator, zero-waste Himalaya coordinator, and intern with organizations such as World Wildlife Fund India and Ecotourism and Conservation Society of Sikkim (ECOSS), addressing critical issues like air pollution, waste management, ecotourism, livelihood, and policymaking.

Khushboo is an India national, and speaks English, Nepali, Hindi, and Bhojpuri fluently.
