Programme Associate Strategic Group 3: Enabling Regional and Global Mechanisms for Sustainable Action SG3 – Action Area F (AAF): Strengthening Global Leadership in Sustainable Mountain Development
I work as a Programme Associate for two initiatives associated with the Transboundary Landscapes Programme – the Landscape Initiative for Far-eastern Himalaya (HI-LIFE) and the Hindu Kush Karakoram Pamir Landscape Initiative (HKPL). I support the management of both the initiatives and perform a wide range of tasks related to administration, finance,logistics, communications and public relations. I am responsible for coodinating and organizing workshops, seminars and meetings. I have helped organize major workshops in China, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, and Nepal.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
At an individual level, I protect the pulse of the planet by reducing consumption of resources. At an institutional level, I contribute to sustainable and resilient mountain development through communicating information and coordinating acitivities aimed at achieving this goal. As an active member of the Eco Club, I help raise environmental awareness and try to be eco-friendly in everyday life.
What is your favourite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
ICIMOD is like my second home. I enjoy all aspects of my work and feel happy being around my colleagues. I love being surrounded by greenery of the ICIMOD campus and am grateful for being part of such a wonderful team.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about singing and am an ardent lover of music. I love helping people, volunteering, and learning about different places and cultures.
My qualifications
I have worked as a project management/public relations professional in various international organizations. Having worked with people of different nationalities for over 14 years, I have a strong ability to relate to people. I have independently organized several workshops, seminars and meetings for IFC, World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, and AED (USAID). I hold an Intermediate (I. Com) in trade and commerce and a bachelor’s degree in social science and humanities. I am currently pursuing a master’s in sociology and have basic French language skills.
