Virtual training

Virtual training on the zig-zag technology for master trainers of the brick sector in Pakistan

Venue

Online via Zoom

Date & Time

14 September 2021 to 16 September 2021

As part of the ongoing project,‘Clean Brick Initiative’ funded by FCDO, we are collaborating with the Federation of Nepal Brick Industries (FNBI) and Brick Kiln Owners Association of Pakistan (BKOAP) to organize a virtual training programme on zig-zag technology for master trainers (brick kiln owners) of the brick sector in Pakistan.

The first day of the virtual session will be classroom training, followed by on-site training at a brick kiln in Lahore, Pakistan. Nepalese brick experts will conduct this training with participants from various districts in Pakistan – Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sekhupura, Okara, Kasur, Nankana, and Lodhran.

The training aims to help master trainers with zig-zag technology, conversion of traditional brick kilns, operations, and management of the improved zig-zag brick kilns. The master trainers will be able to further train brick firemen and stackers and provide advice during troubleshooting. The training will also enable the participants to discuss the issues and challenges they face during the conversion process and operation of the technology.

This training is a part of the effort to up-scale the zig-zag technology and share good brick production practices from Nepal to other South Asian countries.
