Capacity strengthening of women entrepreneurs from Bhutan

About the event

Together with Antarprerana, the Resilient Mountain Solutions (RMS) Initiative is organising a cross-learning and exposure visit to Nepal for the winners and participants of the Business pitching competition held in June 2021 in Bhutan. Their businesses focus on the green sectors in Bhutan and cover a range of products such as ezey – a popular side dish in Bhutan, natural/organic dyed fabric, organic sausages, glass noodles, crotchet items, shitake mushroom, healthy cookies, dapa (wooden bowls), sanitary pads, and cereal.

The exposure visit is part of our RMS Initiative, which supports the building of an inclusive and resilient entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region and provides tailored programmes and capacity building trainings for women entrepreneurs, which will help them strengthen their businesses. Through this exposure visit, ten women entrepreneurs will learn more about similar women-led enterprises and it will provide them with a platform to build networks for further learning and collaboration. This platform also provides mentoring opportunities from experienced women entrepreneurs of Nepal.

We will be awarding the five winners here at ICIMOD in hopes to encourage more women to become entrepreneurs in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region.
