HI-GRID Partners’ Planning Workshop

Background

The “Building capabilities for green, climate resilient and inclusive development in the lower Koshi river basin” HI-GRID project, under Action Area: Cryosphere and Water is organising a partner’s workshop on 20 and 21 January 2026 at Gautam Hotel, Lalgadh.

This workshop provides strategic platform for project partners and ICIMOD to reflect on the progress made in 2025 including key achievement, challenges and lesson learned. It will serve as a collaborative platform to plan for effective implementation of activities for 2026-2027. Additionally, the workshop will provide an opportunity to engage with representatives from each partnering organisation, fostering discussions on strategic implementation, reporting requirements, and safeguarding considerations.

Objectives

• To conduct a review of progress assessing key achievements, highlight challenges and learnings to inform future planning
• To develop the detailed implementation plan for 2026-2027 ensuring alignment with project MEL framework and MTR recommendations
• To enhance partners’ understanding on the reporting requirements of “Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade” (DFAT), ensuring compliance and effectiveness in technical and financial documentation
• To orient partners on safeguarding measures during project implementation and identifying mitigation measures.

Key Outputs

• Identification of key challenges and review of MTR recommendations faced during 2025 implementation and key takeaways for improved implementation in 2026
• Adapt the implementation workplan for 2026-2027 aligned with project goals and MEL indicators prepared in 2025
• Enhanced understanding of safeguarding measures and their practical application in project activities

Expected Outcome

• Clarity and alignment among partners regarding the implementation of activities in 2026 and 2027.
