Vienna, Austria – 22 Aug 2024 – The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) have formally entered into a strategic partnership with the signing of an agreement yesterday (21 August 2024) in Vienna. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Ambassador Friedrich Stift, Managing Director of ADA, and Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, Director General of ICIMOD, in the presence of representatives from both organizations.
This collaboration underscores ADA’s commitment to supporting the goals outlined in ICIMOD’s Strategy 2030 and the Medium-Term Action Plan V (MTAP V) for the period 2023-2026. The agreement details the terms and conditions of ADA’s contribution to ICIMOD’s initiatives over the next four years, ensuring that all activities align with the agreed Strategy 2030, the Results Framework 2023-2026, and MTAP V. These documents, which are annexed to the contract, form an integral part of the partnership.
This agreement marks a significant step forward in the joint efforts to enhance sustainable development and resilience in mountain regions, reflecting the shared vision and commitment of both ADA and ICIMOD.
ICIMOD, a leading international research and development centre, works in and for the eight countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayas: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan.
