Pratikshya Kandel joined ICIMOD in September 2012 as an intern and from April 2014 as a ‘Research Associate’. She assists with research, synthesizing and disseminating findings, and developing knowledge products for ICIMOD’s partners at the national, regional, and global levels. She also supports the regional biodiversity database for the Transboundary Landscape Regional Programme. Ms Kandel has an MSc in Biodiversity and Environmental Management from Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and University of Bergen (Norway), and a BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University, Nepal. Prior to joining ICIMOD, she was working with the Wildlife Watch Group, Nepal as Programme Associate. She also worked with Kathmandu University as a research assistant from 2008–2010. Ms Kandel has worked as a Team Leader in the small grant project ‘Managing Human Wildlife Conflicts in Community Forestry in Nepal’, which is funded by the Rufford Maurice Laing Foundation, United Kingdom.
