Endangered bird species on radar

Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) with the support of Birdlife International, UK, is planning to introduce a new model to monitor the status of globally threatened bird species found in Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Nepal. Of 27 IBAs identified in the country, 13 are located inside protected areas. Two IBAs—Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and Jagadispur Lake in Chitwan—are identified as critical habitats that need urgent conservation efforts.
