Brief Information

This section outlines the location where the survey was conducted and gives a basic profile of the survey respondents.


The 2011 Poverty and Vulnerability Assessment Tool (PVAT) household survey was carried out in 3,437 households in 9 districts across Nepal: Bajhang, Gorkha, Humla, Jajarkot, Kailali, Sankhuwashava, Saptari, Sindhupalchok, and Terhthum.

The majority of the respondents were the head of their household. Most respondents were male, except in Gorkha and Sankhuwashava. The mean age of respondents was 39 years.
