This section outlines the location where the survey was conducted and gives a basic profile of the survey respondents.


Household Composition

This section provides general demographic information about household heads and household members as well as information about those who have migrated away from their village/town for work.

Education

This section looks at the literacy level of household members. It also gives information about the number of households with children not attending school and the reasons behind this. 

Household Consumption, Income and Durable Goods

This section looks at household consumption patterns and income structures. Consumption patterns were derived from household spending on food and non-food items. Information on the products collected from forests and wetlands are linked to both household consumption and income.

Access to Services and Institution

This section charts the accessibility of households to various services and institutions including the time taken to reach various services and institutions and the mode of transport households used.

Electricity, Water, Sanitation and Health

This section provides information about the primary sources of basic household services (fuel/electricity, water, and health services) as well as the accessibility, adequacy, and affordability of these services.

Dwelling

This section gives an overview of household dwellings: the number of rooms, the perceived monetary value, ownership, materials used in the construction of the home, and the perceived ability of the home to withstand natural disasters.

Engagement in Agriculture

This section illustrates the access of surveyed households to agricultural land. It also provides information on characteristics of the land, crops grown, and various aspects of common agricultural practices.

Engagement in Livestock and Fishery

This section provides information about households engaged in rearing livestock and breeding fish. It also provides information about common types of livestock, amounts, and feeding practices.

Engagement in Non-agricultural Occupations

This section details the various types of non-agricultural occupational options available and the number of household members engaged in such occupations.

Food Security

This section gives an overview of the perceived level of food security in the surveyed households.


Loans

This section looks at the level of household debt, main creditors, preferred creditors, and the level of ease with which money can be borrowed.


Environment and Economic Shocks and Coping

This section looks at the major problems/shocks (both economic and environmental) households faced during the last 12 months along with the severity of the shock and the resulting damage.

Climate Variability and Coping

This segment looks at changes in the environment that have taken place in the last 10 years as well as the coping strategies adopted by households to deal with these changes. 

Perceived Economic Situation and Political Influence

This section looks at household perceptions of their economic situation and the influence they have over political decision making processes.
