Shree Mani Amatya joined ICIMOD in 1984 and has been with the Human Resources Development (HRD) section since 1985. She is responsible for processing and maintaining staff contracts, staff entitlements and benefits, staff lists, new applications, and new staff appointments. Prior to joining ICIMOD, Ms Amatya taught high school science for one year. Ms Amatya has visited and studied the human resources/personnel offices at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok, Asian and Pacific Development Centre (APDC) in Kuala Lumpur, and International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Singapore in 1988, and she has participated in various HRD workshops conducted by I/NGOs in Kathmandu. Ms Amatya holds an MBA from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu; a BSc from Tri-Chandra Multiple College, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu; and a BEd from the College of Education, Tribhuvan University. As part of her Master’s degree, Ms Amatya was as a resident worker for six month in a village.
