Mr Sagar Ratna Bajracharya, a Nepali national, joined ICIMOD in June 2006 as a Satellite Hydrology Officer in the Integrated Water and Hazard Management (IWHM) Programme. He is currently working in Climate Impacts on Glaciers in the Himalaya Region (HIMALA) and Flash Flood Risk Management in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region, focusing on the validation and running of the snow and glacier melt runoff model provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Bajracharya has worked in different capacities for ICIMOD projects, from workshop resource person to field officer in RS/GIS. He holds two Master’s degrees – Master of Geo-informatics from the International Institute for Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Holland, with specialisation in GIS, and Master of Geo-science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Mr Bajracharya has also completed a postgraduate course in the Study and Management of Geological Risks from University of Geneva, Switzerland.
