Mr Deependra Tandukar from ICIMOD attended a workshop on ‘SASEC Research and Training Network: Needs and Readiness Assessment’ in Kathmandu on 11 November 2011. The workshop was organised by The South Asia Sub regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Information Highway project which is being executed in four SASEC nations (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal) to improve Information and Communication Technology (ICT) connectivity among the four nations. The project aims to provide modern, affordable, and reliable broadband information, communication, and knowledge services within and across borders to universities, businesses, and expand ICT accessibility in remote rural areas. Mr Tandukar shared ICIMOD’s content development and dissemination experience. The key points shared with the participants for the information and knowledge dissemination were:
