Mr Imran Khan

Khan is a Special Correspondent at Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) based in Patna of India’s Bihar State. He has over 20 years of experience as a journalist reporting on natural disasters, social changes, communal harmony, poverty, environment, health, education, politics, economy and other development sectors. He has worked for leading international news agencies such as AFP, Reuters,, Observer of Business and Politics, Sunday Observer, and Times of India.  He travels widely across and outside Bihar to cover events of national and international importance. 

He is a recipient of several prominent fellowships, including the National Foundation for India (NFI) Media Fellowship in 1999-2000; Saheed Shankar Guha Niyogi Memorial Award for Journalism in 2003-04 and the Ford Foundation International Fellowship in 2006. In March 2015, he participated in a workshop on transboundary Koshi River basin in Kathmandu, Nepal. His educational qualification include master’s in philosophy
