Gunjan Silwal is one of the few women glaciologists from Nepal doing snow and glacier research in the Himalayan region. She graduated with an MS by Research in Glaciology degree from Kathmandu University, Nepal and an MSc in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She is mainly involved in field-based monitoring of glaciers in the Nepal Himalaya and modelling the impacts of climate change on snow and glacier melt runoff in the Himalayan catchment. It is in her nature to learn, grow, and explore. She is fascinated by her surroundings and sees greatness in everything and everyone. She is passionate about life and wants to live it to the fullest. In her leisure time, she reads fiction and magical realism, listens to classic rock, and does some gardening.
