Madhusudhan Guragain

Madhusudhan Guragain hails from mid-hill region of Nepal where a majority of the population depends on rain fed agriculture. Currently, he leads the regional office of the Nepal Republic Media Pvt. Ltd., a major print and online media outlet in Nepal, where he has been working as a correspondent for Nagarik and Republica daily for the past six years. He has worked for different local and national newspapers and FM radios for over 15-years in various capacities. Passion led Madhusudhan to choose journalism as his profession. An optimistic, dedicated and hardworking gentleman, he is interested in investigative journalism related to climate change, food security, water & livelihood. Nabin Luitel

Nabin luitel has been working at Radio Sagarmatha FM 102.4 Mhz as an Environment reporter. He has also worked in the TV sector and a number of other radio stations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Tribhuvan University. He has awarded Rotary Journo environment award from Rotary International District. He also undertook training in radio anchoring, programme production and news reporting. He is also working in Rajdhani Dainik, a popular National Daily, as culture and sports reporter. Ganesh Puri

Ganesh Puri was born and raised in Parbat district, Nepal. He has been working as a radio programme producer in different radios stations for the past five years. He is currently working as an environmental radio programme producer at 3 Angels Community Radio, Pokhara Nepal and a programme outreach associate at Global Primate Network, Nepal. Ganesh is involved in various capacities in different organizations working on environmental conservation, and works towards awareness raising on environmental conservation by celebrating special green days. He has also made a short documentary covering the awareness raising activities carried out during the wildlife week celebration in 2013/14. In his final year at the Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University, he is conducting research entitled - "Media base environmental assessment in governmental vs. nongovernmental national newspaper in Nepal” for partial fulfillment of a Bachelor of .Science degree.

Shahani Singh

Shahani Singh has been contributing as a science correspondent to the Science and Development Network (SciDev.Net) since 2013. She has covered topics including climate change, health and technology for Scidev.Net. In addition to a career in journalism, she has worked as a qualitative researcher for NGOs, think tanks and academic institutions in Nepal. She is a graduate of interdisciplinary social science from the Nepa School of Social Sciences and Humanities and has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Writing from the State University of New York. 

Shahani believes that climate change is a topic that needs to be written about artfully – mitigating the sense of alarm that rings from popular coverage.  With a multidisciplinary background in science writing, the social sciences, and literature, she hopes to convince her readers that events currently affecting the HICAP region could certainly impact their surroundings.
