Sujan Shrestha joined ICIMOD on February 2015. He is a graduate of Environmental Engineering from Kathmandu University, Nepal. He joined Atmosphere Initiative/ Water and Air theme to conduct his engineering dissertation. His dissertation was entitle “Influence of semi-volatile aerosol on physical and optical properties of aerosol in Kathmandu Valley”. This study is the first of its kind to quantify semi-volatile aerosol influence on aerosol physical and optical properties over Kathmandu valley. He is also working extensively in setting up and running air quality and climate observatories within ICIMOD member countries. His research interest lies in quantifying and mitigating atmospheric pollutants like particulate matters, atmospheric organics, inorganics and carbons. He is also interested in studying their transport dynamics and meteorological factors influencing them. In ICIMOD he works closely with Dr. Siva Praveen Puppala, aerosol scientist.
