Intern (RMS Gender and Programme Management Unit), Livelihoods
As an intern within our Livelihoods Theme, I also work within the Resilient Mountain Solutions (RMS) initiative’s Gender and Programme Management Unit. In this role, I help in documenting and profiling RMS activities, supporting the team with our deliverables and with organizing workshops and events, and providing administration support. I also provide support to the gender team by coordinating and networking with partners on gender-focused activities.
Subha Khanal
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
I believe that the work I do at ICIMOD, specifically related to the interventions on behalf of the HKH region’s most vulnerable, will help protect the pulse of the planet.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
The people I work with are genuinely motivated to work on behalf of the people of the HKH, and they’ve been extremely supportive of everything I do. No matter how big or small the contribution I make, my efforts are acknowledged by both the gender and RMS teams. I can say with absolute honesty that I learn so much at ICIMOD everyday, and that I enjoy being a part of the ICIMOD family.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about seeking new knowledge and actively developing new skills. Away from work, I enjoy doing the CrossFit workout, reading novels, and listening to good music.
My qualifications
I have a Master’s degree in International Relations from Webster University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from St. Xavier’s College, Nepal. Previous to that, I hadc completed my schooling from St. Mary’s High School, Nepal.
