My role at ICIMOD

As a Senior Programme Associate in our Water and Air Theme, my role is very diverse. I look after all administrative and logistic work in the theme, coordinate between other themes and regional programmes and all administrative units and am ready to undertake whatever is necessary to facilitate smooth running of the theme’s work.

Q:

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

I protect the pulse by economizing each and every bit of resources in the office as well as at home. I try to minimize the use of plastics though cannot completely avoid it.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

My favorite part at ICIMOD is working in a multicultural environment with people from different nationalities of the world and learning from them. Since I’ve had opportunities to work in different programmes in ICIMOD, I’ve learned a lot and have always had good teamwork and good support.

What are you passionate about?

A:

I am passionate about travelling and learning new things, whatever comes across.

My qualifications

A:

I have worked in ICIMOD for more than 30 years in different programmes.

From the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, West Bengal, India, I completed a Masters’ degree in geography and received a gold medal as first in that subject. I also have a Bachelor’s degree from Loreto College, Darjeeling with honors in geography and worked for a few years in a private company before joining ICIMOD.
