Knowledge Management and Communication
I work to strengthen the communication impact and outreach of initiatives under the Mountain Knowledge and Action Networks Regional Programme. I contribute in devising communication strategies and developing knowledge products for internal and external dissemination and work across a diverse range of knowledge products – be it video or script or impact stories or news pieces. I strive to make science simple and effective through my work.
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
I believe that for science to be effective, it is crucial that it reaches the entire breadth of audience, from the grassroots to decision-makers. Awareness will lead to action and action will lead to change. I strive to make this my motto to protect the pulse.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
The vibrancy – of talented people, diverse cultures and certainly the beautiful ICIMOD campus. I also cherish the most important aspect – having a good work-life balance.
What are you passionate about?
I am a theatre enthusiast and have been a keen member of the theatre circle in my hometown, Pune. I have written, directed, and performed in various plays at college and corporate level competitions. I am passionate about art in general and enjoy films.
I am a proud gold medalist of the Crafting Creative Communications course at the Mudra Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad, India. Prior to joining ICIMOD, I worked in media and advertising as a copywriter at McCann Erickson, Mumbai and handled leading consumer brands in India. I also worked as a freelance consultant, conceptualizing, scripting, and editing documentaries for multiple government projects and NGOs in India.
I also have a business analysis experience from the software industry in India. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Pune University, India in 2009 and a Master’s degree in software engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, India.
