SSA-Climate Change Research Assistant,
Water and Air
I’m involved in climate change research particularly for the Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative, working within the Water and Air theme, using various climate datasets, software, and programming languages.
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
I contribute to protect the pulse through my work in climate change research which is essential in helping to build understanding about the impacts of climate change and helping to prepare adaptive plans for different sectors.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
The thing I enjoy most here at ICIMOD is the people that I work with. I always get to learn something new because there are so many people from different backgrounds and cultures. I am also grateful for the work environment and location of this place, which is so peaceful. And also, sports week is great!
What are you passionate about?
Over the years, the one thing that I’ve been most passionate about is not harming our environment. I try my best to have a sustainable approach to everything and to reduce, reuse and recycle any and all resources.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from Kathmandu University, Nepal and since my final year of my studies, I’ve been involved in climate change research and hydrological modeling. Before joining ICIMOD, I worked in Small Earth Nepal and the Center of Research for Environment, Energy and Water, Nepal.
