Adaptation and Resilience Building
Working with the Resilient Mountain Solutions Initiative as a programme associate, I support the team by providing and managing general administration and logistics, monitoring project budget utilization and partner’s payments and disbursements, assisting and coordinating for timely completion of financial reports and by supporting national and international events.
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
Professionally, I play a supportive role through my work towards protecting the pulse of the planet. Since I am a nature lover and am keen in hiking and trekking, I have learned how nature is important for our survival and individually, I avoid the use of plastic and promote ‘going green’ by planting in my village and nearby area.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
There are a number of things I enjoy working with ICIMOD which include the diverse and multidisciplinary work environment and supportive and sociable colleagues.
What are you passionate about?
Learning new things is my passion, I am always open to opportunities for exploring new knowledge and ideas. Besides this, I am passionate about dance and trekking, it always keeps me happy and refreshed.
Currently, I am pursuing an MBA degree from the DAV Business School in Nepal, majoring in finance. This MBA course has helped me sharpen my financial and quantitative knowledge and develop interpersonal skills. I like playing with numbers and am keen on promoting local entrepreneurship. Prior to the joining ICIMOD, I worked with SNV Netherlands Development Organization, Nepal in their WASH team as a local facilitator. In that role, I worked closely with local communities and the local government of Nepal which helped me to understand the system of local government in Nepal.
