Q:

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

I protect the pulse of the planet here at ICIMOD and beyond through motivating youth who are like me to take action and to help motivate them to protect the pulse.

While travelling daily on buses, I’ve heard many people talking about how important it is to save the planet. But they would still throw plastic wrappers and bottles out of the window. They would say things like, “Whatever I do in this country doesn’t matter.” It made me curious to answer for myself: How much change can come through educating people and in particular motivating youth to connect with the environment? I hope that I can help people to realize that their small efforts can create a huge difference in the future.

Q:

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

The working environment is fantastic as I get chance to work with people from different countries and I get to learn something new from them daily. People here are very friendly and everyone works with a purpose, which boosts my interest and motivates me a lot.

Q:

What are you passionate about?

A:

I am passionate about working in the field of environment science. Through this passion, I want to work for the conservation of environment mostly integrating natural science with social science.
