My role at ICIMOD

As a Programme Associate for the Air Pollution Solutions Initiative, I’m responsible for effective management of logistic arrangements for various meetings, events, research, travels, and activities both within Nepal and internationally. I’m also responsible for communicating with partners, ICIMOD support units, members of our team and other stakeholders for the coordination of all of our activities. I also provide support in coordinating with partners, ensuring timely partner payments and contract liquidation.

How do you protect the pulse of the planet?

A:

I am doing my part to protect the pulse of the planet through management to identify, share and implement effective air pollution solutions. This is critically important to the health of our planet since the HKH region is vulnerable to increasing air pollution and climate change.

What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?

A:

The environment within the ICIMOD is diverse and a wonderful platform in which to learn. I enjoy the vastness of the issues and the regional cooperation we help to bring forth. The people here at ICIMOD are friendly and the ambience created within the walls are encouraging for growth and stability.

I’m passionate about growing, not just for my own betterment, but also for nature and I’m passionate about reading.

My qualifications

A:

I am an MBA graduate from ACE Institute of Management, Kathmandu, Nepal. I have previously worked as a Procurement Officer at Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. where I was responsible for overall procurement of wrapping material; coordination between the Head Officer and factories in Simra and Pokhara for all requirements; preparation of purchase requisition orders; coordination with national and international vendors; coordination for custom clearance; monthly material planning; and negotiations with vendors. During my tenure there, I completed a six-month induction programme and also SAP training for material management. I also previously worked at the Institution for Professional Training and Management, Nepal as Administrative and Programme Officer where I assisted in the overall administration of the office; liaised with project staff, partners, and donors; maintained and monitored financial and administrative records; facilitated training and preparation courses, and reviewed and prepared financial and administrative reports. Apart from this, I also worked as an intern for Standard Charter Bank Nepal Ltd. and Prime Commercial Bank Ltd. based in Kathmandu in the Customer Care Department.
