Senior Programme Associate, Mountain Environment Regional Information System (MENRIS)
As the Senior Programme Associate for the Mountain Environment Regional Information Systems Regional Programme, my roles are varied and include carrying out all administrative and logistics communications and planning in relation to all capacity building events conducted by the SERVIR-HKH initiative and all other meetings and workshops; fulfilling public relation duties for regional, national, and international meetings; preparing contracts; preparing stories on SERVIR-HKH achievements; and I have proudly served as a long-standing member of our Gender Resource Team.

I protect the pulse of the planet by communicating the importance of the mountains, making people aware of their impact on our lives.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
It’s the team support and the people around me that make me happy at the workplace. They are great people to work with!
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping needy people – sharing knowledge, lessons learnt, and life’s good experiences to others.
My qualifications
I have spent over 30 years serving ICIMOD and it is a second home for me. I was among the support staff in the Directorate where I served for almost 22 years and have served in MENRIS for 8 years. I have contributed to the Centre over the years in my capacities as much as I can and have remained loyal to the Centre in achieving its goals. I build trust among my team members, and have trained many interns/trainees to achieve higher goals in their career paths. I also assist by making good decisions and liaising during meetings and visits of high-level delegations. I coordinated the high-level visit by US Congressman Sandy Levin, in August 2013 and served as a Master of Ceremony during the high ranking visit of Dr. John M. Grunsfeld, Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate, NASA/USA in November 2013. Before joining ICIMOD I worked in my own hotel both as the Housekeeping Manager and Public Relations Manager. I have a degree in the French language, a Bachelor’s degree in economics and I hold the distinction of Gold Medalist in Nepal for my Bachelor’s degree.
