SSA – Glaciological Research Associate,
Water and Air
My work focuses on research related to cryospheric science and includes field work, data analysis, using GIS and remote sensing approaches for monitoring glaciers and their components, and glacio-hydrological modelling.
How do you protect the pulse of the planet?
The research we do helps us to better understand the changes happening to the cryosphere and the communicated results can help us to work with policymakers and people to protect the pulse of the planet together.
What is your favorite part of the work you do at ICIMOD?
At ICIMOD we have people from multiple disciplines and working with them helps me to get new perspectives on interdisciplinarity and the different dimensions of science for impact.
What are you passionate about?
Apart from my work, my passion is sports – both playing and watching.
I have previous professional experience working as a civil engineer in the hydro-power sector, but after I completed my Master’s degree in glaciology, I have been focused on research related to cryospheric science.
