Air Quality Public Information System in Nepal: From Data to Aware Public and Responsive Decision Making
18 Jul 2016Managing Nepal’s growing air pollution crisis requires continuous monitoring of air quality at many locations. This information is needed for public decision making to reduce exposure to hazardous air pollution, to identify the most cost-effective measures to reduce long-term emissions, and to implement short-term emergency response measures to extremely high levels of pollution.

Several transboundary initiatives are launched and well underway in the fragile landscape of the Hindu Kush Himalayas. Studies in these areas show it is possible to strike a balance between conservation and development, and mitigate between competing claims on land use.

With this in mind, ICIMOD, in collaboration with National Trust for Nature Conservation, organised a three day Nature Conservation Camp in Sauraha, Chitwan 28-30 January 2016.
