HKH Conservation Portal
Welcome to the Hindu Kush-Himalayan (HKH) Conservation Portal.
The HKH Conservation Portal is a regional repository of biodiversity and conservation
related information from the
Hindu Kush-Himalayan Region.
The portal aims to provide free and open access to primary data and information
related to landscape-level conservation initiatives in the HKH region, including
detailed information on the protected areas, corridors, biodiversity resources,
and livelihoods within different landscapes.
Currently, it hosts information on the protected areas in the eight countries of
the HKH, namely, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal and
Pakistan; and includes detailed information on the landscape elements (biodiversity,
protected areas, corridors, socioeconomic features) of one of the seven conservation
landscapes, Kangchenjunga.
The data in the portal will be updated and expanded as information from the landscapes
becomes available. We seek support from partners, individuals, and institutes in
ICIMOD’s regional member countries and encourage you to play an important role in
populating the portal. The portal is designed to facilitate uploading and sharing
of biodiversity information and knowledge from the different landscapes in the region.
