Muhammad Ismail, from Pakistan, joined ICIMOD as Assistant Research Officer for the Regional Rangeland Programme of Environmental Change and Ecosystem Services in May 2005. He was later promoted to Action Area Team Leader for Rangeland Resources management. Muhammad Ismail has a Master’s in Forestry, and has been working in natural resources management and development area since 1999. Before joining ICIMOD, he spent six years as NRM officer at the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme in Pakistan. He is currently leading a team of multidisciplinary professionals working on climate change science, the economic valuation of ecosystem services, biodiversity informatics, and the up-scaling and promotion of transboundary landscapes and trans Himalayan transects of Karakoram-Pamir Landscape Initiative.
