Background

The World Mountain Forum (WMF) 2016 will take place Mbale, Uganda presenting an opportunity for mountain stakeholders to share past activities experiences in sustainable mountain development (SMD) and to discuss future challenges and opportunities for SMD. Referring to the recommendations made during the last WMF 14 in Peru, conclusions of on-going international policy processes including climate change negotiation and new sustainable development goals (SDGs) will be examined.
